#50 - Isaac Saul - Can Neutral Language Bridge the Left-Right Divide?

Isaac Saul is a politics reporter and the founder of Tangle, an independent, nonpartisan news outlet that covers the big issues of the day by highlighting different perspectives across the political spectrum.

Before Tangle, Isaac helped build A Plus, a solutions journalism media outlet, alongside actor and entrepreneur Ashton Kutcher. In 2016, Yahoo News named him one of the 16 people whose writing shaped the 2016 election, and in 2020, Forbes Magazine called him one of the 1,000 “upstart entrepreneurs redefining the American dream.”

Isaac started Tangle in 2019 as an independent, ad-free, non-partisan politics newsletter that summarizes the best arguments from the left and right on the news of the day, as well as his own distinctive take on the issue. Tangle now has over 120,000 readers and 100,000 followers across its social platforms, podcast, and YouTube channel. check them out at https://www.readtangle.com/

Isaac also has some interesting ideas on language, and how news reporting can become better by intentionally choosing neutral terms. I think this is a discussion worth having - not just between Isaac and me, but throughout the journalist profession.
